biker babe
this is another video from the weekend. isa loves her bike and is really excited that she can ride it on the sidewalks outside now! but as you can see, she is still working on the steering and has to adjust to the wide open spaces! no furniture and walls to keep her in check. good thing the daddy is fast on his feet.

puddles and bikes
This post brought to you by the daddy again... While our biggest snow of the year is probably still to come (although it won't stick around long), Spring feels like it is moving in. And that means mud season! The snow from Thanksgiving is going back to where it came from, a journey that starts with lots of puddles. Isa has a great time splashing and even tries to say "puddle." I didn't want to leave too much out, so this one's album-style again. The first set of shots in this album is from a couple weeks ago, and the last couple with the bike are from today. Don't worry, we still found puddles today. One of our favorite shots is in the middle - the close up of the blueberry pancake mouth. You can look at the full size pic (all of em!) by clicking on the "puddles and bikes" link that pops up on the slideshow.

new addition!
we came back from the little vacation with a large piece of antique furniture! pretty amazing isn't it? we have been needing more storage for a while now, but it's hard to find something unique and nice and affordable around here. so we did some looking in jackson and to our surprise found this incredible cabinet/amoir/dresser in our price range. what a score! it wasn't exactly cheap, but being that it was in our price range meant that it wasn't too pricey either.
as you can probably tell, it's pretty old and has lots of character, which is what we were going for. it is from china and though we don't know much about the history of it, we are told that it was most likely used for food storage. there are two large shelves in the top part, three small drawers in the middle, with two more slotted shelves in the bottom. the top doors swing open and the bottom square panels slide. eventually it will go on the opposite wall (not pictured) where the long, low dresser is now. but we are repainting an older dresser now that will go in this newly occupied space. yeah, yeah, that's alot of dressers being described for a small room but it will all work out in the end!
and in case you were wondering... no! i would not normally put a photo of our unmade bed on the blog. but daddy and isa had just finished wrestling on the (fully made) bed as i was snapping shots. that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it.
home again, home again...

over the hill!
as of saturday morning, we're headed over the hill for a little R&R. gotta love federal holidays! no mail on monday means the mommy doesn't need to slave all weekend to get things ready to ship. it's vacation time! and we are all very, very excited about that.
in case you are wondering, and i know you are... the goose is feeling good and other than a little runny nose, there is no sign of illness. luckily, we only had to used the nebulizer once (it made a difference that one time though) and she was breathing easy again. here's to hoping this is not a chronic issue. but in keeping with the boy scout motto, we will be well equiped. with humidifier, essential oils, vicks, nebulizer, albuterol, et al... we could treat all the asthmatics in teton county!
so, be patient (ahem, grandparents) and we'll be back before you know it. with lots of good pictures to show and hopefully some fun anecdotes as well. buen viaje!

breathe in, breathe out.
well, we thought that maybe it was the THIRD round of croup this winter, but perhaps not. after a trip to the pediatrician this morning, we are on our way for allergy testing and a nebulizer. awesome. isa's most recent round of respiratory crud coincided with two things: the introduction of goats milk into her diet and the vacuuming of the basement (and then upstairs) with our ancient hepa-less vacuum. so there is a good chance, according to the doc, that it's actually an allergic reaction causing her distress rather than a virus. we'll see. in the meantime, isa seems to be a-ok with the nebulizer treatments, atleast while it's still novel. she's not so sure what it's all about, but atleast it's amusing enough to keep from being thrown across the room!

and while we are saying thank you...
here's a yummy thank you for grandma and grandpa schneider for the 'happy anniversary' gift card. as you can guess from the picture, we're treating ourselves to a nice dinner tonight, sans kiddo, who will be happily playing at home with the sitter. ah, the luxury! thank you again!

a toddler dinner party...
so what does a dinner party with three busy toddlers entail? alot of pasta, toy sharing, jumping on beds, and the inevitable bedtime meltdown! this group of parents and babies have been getting together for a long while now and tonight jen and jim were the gracious hosts. it was a good time had by all, though we are not sure that poor jen ever got to actually eat her dinner. as you can see from the (not so focused) photos, the little ones had a grand time and even got to eat at their own table. not that they actually consumed much food. there were far more interesting things to get into apparently! enjoy!
communication update!
isa's had an explosion of sorts when it comes to communication, both verbally and using signs. she can now ask for specific things using signs... new signs being cereal, banana, cracker, and water. she is also starting to put more than one sign together to ask for more of a particular food or drink, in addition to being able to say that she is "all done" with something. she is also talking more as well and will surprise us with a random words here and there. yesterday she enjoyed saying "ski! ski!" while she was on daddy's back, skiing up the trail!
daddy pics
the look of apprehension
daddy doesn't get to play with the camera nearly enough, but saturday morning he ended up with some amusing pictures of isa. there were too many to post, but these were some highlights. this is a typical saturday morning scene around here lately... isa and daddy playing while the mommy works. it's fabulous for all involved.

coffee date
isa and mommy have a standing friday morning coffee date with stacy and willow. mainly because we have a fabulous new coffee shop here in town. one that serves real bagels with real cream cheese and real coffee. and it is real good folks. and they don't mind a few cute babies running around either, so we take advantage of the space and time to do a little hanging out. i've been meaning to take the camera for weeks now and just so happened to remember this morning! so here go... goosey and friends!
